Upper Gluggafoss Waterfall
36" x 24" HD Metal Vertical Panorama
Iceland has numerous waterfalls throughout this island nation. Yet most waterfalls along the ring road - Route 1 - have far too many tourists and photographers for clean images.
Gluggafoss Waterfall is 7.5 miles inland from the southern ring road so most tourists in Iceland miss it or don't even know about it; which is a good thing.
Because it's not visible from Rt 1, there were only a few other people there that day. It was wonderful!
And from the road these falls are just not that impressive as the other waterfalls in Iceland appear to be.
But I liked these falls the best. It was very unique and intimate.
It was wonderful to have this pretty much to ourselves; and because there was no wind in this canyon, shooting there was absolutely joyous.
Gluggafoss Falls is 2 waterfalls about 80' apart with a raging river connecting them.
I really like my Breakthrough Photography 6-Stop ND filter and the effect it has on water. Most photographers shoot waterfalls at 1/3rd of a second to 4 seconds. However, I love creating 30 second exposures with this filter.
This image is actually three 30 second horizontal images stitched together into this detail rich vertical panorama.
The 30 seconds also smooths out the rapidly flowing water from this waterfall to the lower falls. This technique yields far more detail than any single vertical shot would provide.
This image is a 36" x 24" HD Metal Print with a matte finish so ZERO reflections!
It is, of course, available in many other sizes, from as small as 12" x 8" up to 60" x 40" - which would be spectacular in a large office lobby or a home.
Let me know which size works best for your home or office and I will get you a quote in either HD Metal or a Framed Print. The HD Metal is the superior choice - and we can get custom wood frames for this HD Metal at very reasonable prices.
